The course investigates in a critical manner the prophetic literature that is, the body of writings that witnesses to and grows out of the ministry of the prophets of the Old Testament. This would also entail an investigation of the religious, social, and political context of ancient Israel's prophets and the literature attributed to them in the Hebrew Canon paying attention to the prophets' struggle for justice and the call to be faithful to YHWH.
The class meets every Monday morning from 8:10 - 10:00 with a 5 minute break in between and every Tuesday morning from 8:10 - 8:55.
